Registration continues Tuesday
Lakeland families still have a chance Tuesday to register for the Police Department’s Cops for Kids holiday gift program. According to local media, the program is in its 20th year and helps children 12 and under who live within Lakeland city limits.
The same report says the department serves around 400 kids each year, but registration does not guarantee acceptance.
Where to go and what to bring
Tuesday registration runs 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at Simpson Park, 1725 Martin Luther King Jr. Ave.
Families should bring a current Lakeland Electric bill, photo ID and each child’s original birth certificate.
Families who received gifts in either of the previous two years are not eligible.
