It’s a point of local pride that one of America’s most recognizable grocery chains was born in Lakeland. Publix Super Markets was founded here in 1930 by George W. Jenkins, and the company has called the city home ever since.

Today Publix remains one of the largest employers in the region, and its headquarters keep deep roots in the Lakeland community through local jobs, charitable giving, and sponsorships across Polk County.
